Renovating & Beautifying the Synagogue
In December 1999 the Synagogue celebrated 120 years and embarked on a very ambitious project of Renovating, Rebuilding
and Beautifying the present monument. This ambitious project was undertaken in four phase. The goal is to build a
"JEWISH EDUCATIONAL-CULTURAL-SOCIAL-RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY CENTER". The first phase was the Replacement of the Synagogue Ceiling &
the work began on 30th April 2000 and completed on 31st August 2000. The first phase of the renovated Synagogue was
re-dedicated to the community of Thane on the 3rd of September 2000
Shaar Hashamaim's Renovated & Beautified Mikveh
The second phase was of Renovation and Rebuilding of MIKVEH completed & declared open on 16th September 2001.
This Mikveh has been constructed and renovated under the able religious guidance of International Mikveh Expert
Rabbi Meir Posen who is an authority on building Mikveh's in the Jewish establishments. The entire work was
carried out under the able guidance and supervision of the management team.
